I already use AI as my running coach. Why do I need RunAI?
Maybe you don't.
Give an AI your goal and training history and it can build you a training plan. Give it your Garmin, Apple Health or other training data and it can analyse what you've done, suggest progression and change the next session when training doesn't go to plan.
You can build yourself a pretty capable AI running coach.
The question is: do you want to build it?
The hard part isn't getting AI to write a 12-week plan. It's what happens after week one. Does it remember the right things? Does it understand what you completed rather than what was planned? When it changes tomorrow, does it understand what that means for next month and your original goal?
And can it keep doing that for years without you maintaining prompts, context, integrations and another system in your life?
Then there's a bigger question: what can it learn from everyone else?
Imagine hundreds of thousands of runners receiving training prescriptions, executing them and generating real outcomes. The valuable dataset isn't simply runs. It's the relationship between what was prescribed, what was actually done, and what happened next.
Can a system learn which prescriptions worked, for which runners, under which circumstances? Can it use that evidence to make the next prediction better?
Can it tell you what these eight runs mean for your goal?
Not just summarise them. Predict their likely impact. Then, when the next eight runs arrive, compare what it predicted with what actually happened and learn from the difference.
That prediction → execution → outcome → learning loop is the problem RunAI is being built around.
You shouldn't have to manage the AI.
Your training comes in. Your plan evolves. Your feedback becomes evidence. The system keeps track of where you're heading and what changed along the way.
If you already use AI to coach your running, we don't need to convince you that AI coaching is useful. You've already understood the first half of the idea.
RunAI is what we're building so you don't have to build the second half yourself.
Already coaching yourself with AI?
You're exactly the runner we want testing RunAI.
